At the girlfriend’s place for dinner with some friends, I opened a few wines from the cellar that originate from the Mornington Peninsula wine region of Victoria. They are The Moorooduc “Wild Yeast” Chardonnay 2004 & the Ten Minutes By Tractor McCutcheon Vineyard Pinot Noir 2005, both under screw-cap. Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions for wines I should taste leave me a comment. Like this video and subscribe to my channel for more videos like this.

The Vincast with Ed Merrison the Bonnezeaux Gonzo
Ed Merrison has a very unique perspective on wine, particularly Australian wine. Firstly as he is a freelance journalist with an open mind, a thirst for a unique angle, and a desire to tell a story rather than simply the facts. Secondly, he is an Englishman with very little family background in wine. He moved to Melbourne in 2002 with his Australian wife, and through being introduced via the local wine culture and also travelling to a number of wine regions, found Australian wine and the people who work with it to be authentic, vibrant and honest. On this episode of The Vincast he talks about his journey and his passions.

The Vincast with Tom Carson from Yabby Lake and Heathcote Estate
The Jimmy Watson Trophy is one of the most coveted and prestigious prizes in Australian winemaking, and for the first time since the 1950s a Pinot Noir has recently taken it out. On this episode I welcome the trophy-winning winemaker from Yabby Lake Tom Carson, who over the past 20 years has established a place in the industry not only for his exceptional skills as a vigneron but also his innovative business insights. We cover his origins, his studies and his path in the industry that has led him to putting pinot noir back on the map.

Foxeys Hangout – 3/09/2013
Pinot Gris 2013
Quite bright fresh fleshy green fruits. Textured intense, fairly true to style and region, lots of green apples.
Chardonnay 2012
A little on the shy side aromatically, not giving away much. Clean fresh not heavy or oaky, just lacking fruit personality.
Rosé 2013 (Shiraz)
Fresh fruity, a little bit spicy, generous fruit, some sweetness but sufficiently dry.
Pinot Noir 2012
Subtle earthy spicy dark cherries. Balanced generous, good fruit, some sweet tannins, subtle oak. Safe but indistinct.
Shiraz 2012
Super peppery on the nose, blackberries. Quite supple and generous, good savoury edge, lovely round black pepper, lacks a bit of drive.

Looks a touch sulphury smoky. Classic Scorpo Gris, rich yet tight and focused, nice texture and generosity.
Chardonnay 2009
Purity finesse drive natural acidity bite and freshness. Long and fine, well-managed for the vintage.
Pinot Noir 2011
Fine delicate but nice concentration and balance. Earthy savoury textural density. Power but restraint.
Shiraz 2008
Meaty inky savoury Indian spice. Juicy dark generous, looking full in oak and fruit. Lacking some finesse. Not sure…
