I opened my bottle of Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon 1995 from the Intrepid Cellar, and recorded my impressions, talking a bit about Margaret River, the Jimmy Watson Trophy, and mature cabernet sauvignon wines. In spite of the amazing wine knife made by Code 38, I need to improve my technique with these older bottles as the corks are more fragile and can break.
Hi James, topical tasting as the winemaking and vit team are here at Cloudy Bay this week. Looks like it was showing well, had a bottle of 2005 last week, sounds like it is on a similar tradectory, all bay leaf, dark fruits, very typical of the site. Not sure about radishes though :-))
